Manchester United are said to be in advanced negotiations with Fulham for the signing of Swiss defender Kevin Mbabu.

According to recent reports, Manchester United may be making a surprise move for Fulham defender Kevin Mbabu.

Despite recent acquisitions of Jack Butland and Wout Weghorst, the Red Devils are said to be in advanced negotiations to bring the Swiss international right-back to Old Trafford.

It’s to be noted that Mbabu joined Fulham, who are enjoying a bright season in the Premier league only in the summer but has failed to make an impression under manager Marco Silva, starting only twice for the West London club.

AC Monza is also said to be interested in signing the 27-year-old defender. However, TuttoMercatoweb claims that he is “close to Manchester United.”

It’s worth mentioning that United’s current manager, Eric ten Hag, has favored Diogo Dalot for the majority of the campaign and has Aaron Wan-Bissaka as backup.

The 27 years old former VFL Wolfsburg defender is under contract with Fulham until 2026, with an option for an additional 12 months.

He previously played for Newcastle and Rangers, and most recently spent three seasons at VfL Wolfsburg before joining Fulham.
