Anthony Martial wouldn’t mind exchanging his goals for a Man United win vs Man City
Anthony Martial has claimed that he’s willing to give his first goals of the season for a Manchester United win over Manchester City.
Martial marked his return from long-term injury he suffered against Liverpool in August against Man City on Sunday in the Premier League with two goals.
United were trailing 5-1 before Erik ten Hag brought the France international on to replace slightly fit Marcus Rashford and the 26-year-old scored two goals late in the game to ease the embarrassment among United players and their fans at the Etihad Stadium.
Two hat-tricks from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden were enough for Manchester City to end Manchester United’s four-match winning run in the league and as well as City extending their winning run to three matches in all competitions.
Martial, who scored his first goals of the season against the Citizens, has suggested that he’s willing to give both up if that’s what it takes for United to get all three points off Man City.
Speaking to Canal+, he admitted: “I would have preferred not to score and win this game [vs Man City], but it’s always good to come back on the grass and score. We are really frustrated. We are going to give everything to come back for the next game.

Anthony Martial has a chance to build on his superb cameo when Manchester United play Omonia on Thursday night in the Europa League group stage.
Martial is expected to be in the starting lineup against the Cyprus side as part of his recovering process to be match fit. Next stop for United is at Goodison Park where they will face Everton, who have been good of late, in the Premier League.
